GIMPY LINEBACKER: Strongside linebacker Brandon Miller played sparingly in the first half. The Bulldogs' normal starter sprained his left knee in the SEC Championship Game. Danny Verdun Wheeler started in place of Miller.
The Bulldogs' top five linebackers will return in 2006, meaning the position should be the strength of the defense next season.
"The thing with the linebackers looking down the road is they are going to have to provide leadership for this defense," linebackers coach John Jancek said.
"It's not going a matter of getting them reps and getting them experience and getting them the looks that they need. The real challenge I think for those guys in the spring will be what kind of leadership they can provide for this defense in terms of setting the expectations and setting the tempo."
