Men's Tennis Picked to win SEC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. In a preseason poll of all SEC men¹s tennis coaches, Georgia was picked to win both the Eastern division and the overall title, announced by the SEC office Friday afternoon. Georgia was also voted No. 3 in the country in the first regular season ITA poll earlier this week.

"We are appreciative and proud of these poll results because it comes from the other coaches that we will have to face," said Georgia head coach Manuel Diaz. "We are pleased that the other coaches in our conference believe that we have a competitive team that can compete for the conference title. We also realize thought, just how close the conference is and how tough it is going to be to claim a championship this year. The SEC is undoubtedly the strongest it has been in many years in my opinion."

The 2006 SEC Tennis Championships take place April 20-23. They will be held in Tuscaloosa and will be hosted by the University of Alabama.

The Coaches' Poll is cast on a 6-5-4-3-2-1 point basis. The complete poll results are as follows:
