Kendall's Take: Lady Dawgs look for win

ATHENS - Josh Kendall breaks down the Lady Dawgs' game with Miami.

Georgia vs. Miami
Time/place: Today, 3 p.m., The Arena at Gwinnett
Center, Duluth, Ga.
Broadcast: Fox SportsNet South
Records: No. 13 Georgia is 11-4, Miami is 12-3

About Miami: Forward Tamara James, a 5-foot-10 senior, leads the ACC in scoring with 21 points per game. … Junior guard Renee Taylor gets 14.1 points per game, and senior guard Tamika Butler averages 13.9 per game.

About Georgia: Today's game is part of the Russell Athletic Shootout. … With six more steals, Sherrill Baker will become the SEC's career leader in that category. … Andy Landers is five wins away from 650. … The Lady Bulldogs won the only other meeting in this series, which was played in 1982. … Georgia is 63-12 all-time against ACC schools.

Scouting report: The Lady Bulldogs didn't have enough post depth to knock off No. 1 Tennessee on Thursday. Today, they'll have to see if they have enough quickness to handle one of the ACC's shiftiest teams.

"The thing that concerns me the most is the contrast between Miami and Tennessee," Georgia coach Andy Landers said. "You're talking about going from a big, somewhat methodical offensive basketball team to a small, extremely quick, unpredictable offensive basketball team." The game could be decided from behind the 3-point line. Georgia is on pace to set a school record for 3-pointers attempted per game at 18.7, but even the Lady Bulldogs can't keep up with the Hurricanes' pace. Miami shoots 21.8 per game.

Up next: Georgia vs. Mississippi State, Sunday, 7 p.m.; Miami vs. Boston College, Sunday, 7 p.m.
