UGA Vaults Into Lead

Brent Brewer is a WR gaining lots of attention as we charge towards signing day 2006. This weekend he stayed home and visited the Georgia Bulldogs. Brent was so impressed that he came away with a brand new leader for his signature.

"It went real good. I loved it. I'd give it a 10," Brent Brewer said.

What stood out most to Brent?

"I loved the campus tour and how they had the academic program set up and the things to help the student athletes. It was crazy. I loved it."

Many Dawg fans have actually compared Brent's game to current Bulldog WR Kenneth Harris and that's just who his host was for the weekend.

"Kenneth Harris was my host. Were like the same exact person, so it was a good match. We went to some football players houses, chilled out and just played video games and stuff like that."

The facilities in Athens made a big impact on Brewer.

"I loved the Academic Center and Sanford Stadium. The dorms and the Ramsey Center are all great. It was all good."

Before leaving the Classic City, he got to sit down with the Head Bulldog.

"Coach Richt just told me they needed some receivers and some playmakers. They let me know they would still let me still let me play baseball and they were looking forward to me coming and competing for playing time on the football team."

The visit has vaulted the Dawgs to the head of the class.

"Georgia is ahead of everybody right now. It was just more than I expected. I was comfortable with everything and I think I can fit in there."

The Dawgs will have to fend off Mississippi State and Florida State if they hope to earn his signature come February and Brewer visits each of those schools on consecutive weekends starting on the 20th…
