Kendall's Take: Lady Dawgs to battle LSU

ATHENS - Josh Kendall breaks down Georgia's basketball game with #3 LSU.

Georgia women vs. LSU
Time/place: Today, 3 p.m., Stegeman Coliseum, Athens, Ga.
Broadcast: Fox SportsNet South Records: No. 13 Georgia is 13-4 overall, 3-1 SEC; No. 3 LSU is 15-1 overall, 4-0 SEC

About LSU: Seimone Augustus isn't the only star the Lady Tigers have. Six-foot-6 center Sylvia Fowles averages 16.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. … LSU's only loss this season came against Connecticut in Connecticut. … LSU has won 18 straight conference games. The Lady Tigers have won just three times in Athens.

About Georgia: Coach Andy Landers is three wins shy of having 650 with the Lady Bulldogs. … Senior guard Sherrill Baker leads the NCAA with 91 steals, a number which is all the more impressive with judged against her 46 personal fouls. Baker is four steals away from the SEC record. … With one more assist Alexis Kendrick will have 500 for her career.

Scouting report: Landers thinks the Lady Tigers may have the most athletic starting lineup in the country. That'll pose a problem for Georgia. Athleticism is not the Lady Bulldogs' strength. Outside of Baker and star forward Tasha Humphrey, Georgia's players get by more on smarts and skill than pure, take-the-ball-to-the-basket athleticism. The Lady Tigers also have the best defense against Humphrey, a tall center who can affect shots near the basket.

Up next: Georgia at South Carolina, Thursday, 7 p.m.; LSU vs. Vanderbilt, Thursday, 8 p.m.
