Who Georgia will close with...

ATHENS – Dean Legge reviews which currently uncommitted players will sign with Georgia.

There are still several players out there the Bulldogs could close with. Some players are more likely to commit than others, but all of the players named in this article are still at least interested in Georgia and have not yet committed elsewhere.

With the addition of Geno Atkins Georgia addressed their desire to pick up another defensive tackle. But Rodney Garner and Mark Richt still want a running back, and would also like a wide receiver. With that in mind, here are the names of the players still on the watch list to sign with the Dawgs:

Reshad Jones – The Atlanta safety should be Georgia's next commitment; he is visiting Athens this weekend, and it is expected that he will commit to the Bulldogs some time during or shortly after the trip. Jones has visited LSU and Miami, but he calls Georgia the team to beat.

On Signing Day, he will sign with: Georgia

Tim Hawthorne – Georgia would love to add another receiver to the Class of 2006. The Bulldogs have made it late in the recruiting process with this talented Alabama prospect, but it seems the Dawgs are on the outside looking in. Sunday Hawthorne told Scout.com that Auburn was his leader, but the next day he told The Birmingham News that he "took back those comments." According to Hawthorne Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee are still equal.

On Signing Day, he will sign with: Auburn

Knowshon Moreno and Stafon Johnson – Georgia has been campaigning for a running back since before the Sugar Bowl, and two top prospects still remain: Moreno and Johnson. Moreno seems to be the back most likely to pick the Dawgs, which would have all but knocked out another running back, but he's not taken Georgia yet. That's left the door open for a potential Johnson-Georgia marriage. Johnson loved his visit to Athens this past weekend (his last official trip). He palled around with the infections Kelin Johnson, who is responsible for getting Tony Wilson to pick Georgia, and all reports indicate that Stafon Johnson liked Georgia better than he thought he would. Southern Cal and Washington are still in the running for Johnson while Moreno is thinking about Florida and Virginia Tech. One thing is for sure – Georgia won't be getting both players.

On Signing Day, Moreno will sign with: Georgia
On Signing Day, Johnson will sign with: Southern Cal

Cameron Smith – I'm not sure when Smith with sign with Georgia, but he will end up at Georgia in the future. For now, however, he will have to wait out a season while he gets his grades in gear.

On Signing Day (or soon thereafter), he will sign with: Georgia (but he'll be sent to Hargrave for grades).

Jeremiha Hunter – A linebacker, Hunter has not been discussed a lot, but he is listing the Bulldogs. Still, it seems very unlikely that a player who did not visit Georgia would pick the Dawgs over a closer-to-home school.

On Signing Day, he will sign with: Not Georgia

Danny Carmichael – Here is a case of a guy that can't quite get what he wants. There's very little question that Carmichael wants to play for Georgia, but the likelihood of that happening seems low. He's currently got only one Division I offer – from Middle Tennessee State. Carmichael lost an offer from North Carolina because he took too long to commit to the Tar Heels (because he wants to play for Georgia). Carmichael could sneak on at Georgia, but the Dawgs would have to lose someone to add him, and that seems very doubtful this late in the game – it's too bad.

On Signing Day, he will sign with: Middle Tennessee State

Brent Brewer – Georgia fans may have been hearing about Tim Hawthorne for some time, but Brewer is the receiver that will more than likely end up at Georgia. Brewer still has a visit left this weekend at Florida State – a school that closes very well. Still, Brewer is only going to Tallahassee at his father's request. The Seminoles need to do some major convincing this weekend. They are hosting nine prospects, all of whom are ranked "higher" than Brewer according to Scout.com. Brewer wants to play at Georgia, and that's where he'll sign.

On Signing Day, he will sign with: Georgia
