Kendall's Take: Georgia travels to Auburn

ATHENS - Josh Kendall breaks down Georgia's basketball game with Auburn.

Time/place: Today, 3 p.m., Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum
Broadcast: Jefferson-Pilot television
Records: Georgia is 12-7, 2-4 SEC; Auburn is 8-8, 0-5 SEC

About Auburn: The Tigers are led by freshman center Rasheem Barrett, who played at Marist High School in Atlanta. Barrett is averaging 11.8 points per game, just ahead of the 11.7 being scored by senior guard Ronny LeMelle. … Auburn is starting four freshmen. One of them, point guard Quantez Robertson has played all but 38 seconds in the team's five SEC games.

About Georgia: Leading scorer Levi Stukes hasn't scored more than eight points in any of the last three games. He is averaging 6.3 points per game in that span but still leads the team with 11.6 per game overall. … Point guard Sundiata Gaines has had just one assist in each of the last two games. The Bulldogs are 1-6 in Auburn since the SEC split into divisions. Their last win there was in 1992.

Scouting report: Ugh. Today's game matches the team's ranked No. 70 (Georgia) and No. 108 (Auburn) by The Tigers have scored just 273 points in their first five SEC games. That's the lowest five-game total for Auburn since the 1980-81 season. Only once have the Tigers broken 60 in a conference game. That's not a good sign against a Georgia team that usually plays good defense and certainly still will be mad about the 50 they gave up to LSU in the first half on Wednesday. Also, the Bulldogs have proven they can win on the road in the league, having already done it at South Carolina.

Up next: Georgia vs. Alabama, Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.; Auburn at LSU, Wednesday, 8 p.m.
