• The Bulldogs are seeking to stop a 2-game losing streak, having dropped a pair of road contests last week. Most recently, Georgia dropped to 12-8 overall, 2-5 in SEC play with a 66-65 loss at Auburn on Saturday. Despite the outcome Saturday, Georgia maintains a 4-game improvement in the W/L ledger from last season. In addition, the Bulldogs have already matched their SEC victory total from last year, with nine league contests left.
• After the Wednesday game, it will be nearly a month before the Bulldogs face another team from the Western Division. They'll play five straight intra-divisional contests, beginning Saturday at Vanderbilt.
• Tonight's game is the 131st all-time meeting between these two schools. Alabama, having won the past two and four of the past five, leads the series 86-44.
The Crimson Tide won last year's only meeting by a 75-47 score in Tuscaloosa. It was an altogether forgettable trip for Georgia, which not only lost the game but was stranded for nearly two days in Atlanta en route. Icy travel conditions also forced the postponement of this game for one day.
Georgia - Alabama Series
• Tonight's game is the 131st meeting between Georgia and Alabama. The Crimson Tide leads the series 86-44, having won four of the past five games. This record does not exclude Georgia's 2003 victory in Tuscaloosa, which was later vacated because of NCAA sanctions.
