3 Leaders For Florida Super-Star

D'Angelo McCray is a player from the Sunshine State that's drawing plenty of early attention. He has already accumulated over 15 offers from big time programs but three of them look to have the inside track to garner his signature.

"He has offers from schools like Miami, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, South Florida, South Carolina, Louisville, Central Florida, Clemson, Alabama, Nebraska and Illinois," Andrew Jackson head coach Kevin Sullivan said.

The Noles, Gators and Dawgs appear to be early favorites for D'Angelo McCray.

"I'm trying to get him by the end of spring to be down to 10 schools. As we get closer to the summer, were going to hit some unofficial visits and look around. I know he likes Florida State, Florida and Georgia as the top three. He also likes Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina and he really likes Louisville because we have a tailback there. I can tell you that Florida State, Florida and Georgia will be three of his final five though."

At 6'5 280lbs, D'Angelo is an athletic big man that plays on both sides of the ball for Andrew Jackson.

"D'Angelo will be a four year starter for us because he started 6 games at tight end as a true freshman. Defensively he's tough to block one on one. We play him at either DE or DT depending on who were playing. You have to help block him because he's so strong and quick."

Despite his prowess on offense, McCray is most likely to slot in on the defensive side of the ball at the next level.

"Mostly he's going to be a defensive end or defensive tackle. Some coaches want to make him a tight end but if he stays on offense I suspect he'd end up at guard or tackle which I don't know if he'd be happy with."

The First Coast star finished his junior year with unreal statistics. He tallied 75 tackles, 23 for loss and 12 sacks. From his TE spot he raked in 24 catches for 370yds and a touchdown.
