Georgia travels to LSU for showdown

ATHENS - No. 13 Georgia faces No. 3 LSU this afternoon in Baton Rouge in the Lady Bulldogs¹ first action in a week.

Last Sunday, the Lady Dogs dispatched Alabama, 84-59, for their third straight decisive win. Prior to that victory, Georgia topped No. 21 Kentucky by 34 points and dispatched No. 23 Florida by 37. In fact, the Lady Dogs have won six or their last seven outings by relatively comfortable margins...all but one of the double-digit variety, with four being by 25 points or more. The lone ³L² in that stretch was a 65-64 setback these very Lady Tigers three weeks ago.

So here¹s the dilemma. Would you rather keep a good thing rolling along or have a couple days off to get fresher legs underneath a team with four starters who average more than 30 minutes per game?

³Ask me on Sunday whether it was a good thing or not,² Andy Landers quipped. ³Going into the week, I think we¹re all looking forward to (the open date). It¹s been a tough, very demanding season. I think our players will certainly benefit from the rest and our basketball team also will benefit from having an extra day of preparation for this game."
