Class of 2006: John Miller

Dean Legge reviews each of Georgia's 27 commitments in the class of 2006.

John Miller
Offensive Lineman
(Woodland) Cartersville, GA
Rank: 2NRRating: ***

It appeared John Miller would get a jump on the rest of his colleagues in the Class of 2006, but he'll spend this spring, and maybe some part of this summer out with shoulder surgery.

Shoulder problems will keep Miller from participating in mat drills, spring practice and perhaps summer workouts. It's hard to imagine that he'll avoid getting redshirted this fall because of the shoulder. Miller's time will come after the fall of 2006.

THE STATS: As a senior, Miller graded out at 86% including 22 pancake blocks.

HONORS: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution "Best in Georgia"… 7-AAAA All-Region First Team… Super Six…All-Bartow County… Offensive Player of the Week twice for Woodland….

FINAL WORD: Miller seems to be an efficient lineman, but shoulder surgery this spring and his size all but guarantee he will be redshirted this fall. However, by enrolling at Georgia early, Miller has an advantage the rest of the class does not. He'll be quite used to college life and what it takes to play at Georgia before he will be looked to for significant on-the-field contributions.
