Class of 2006: Chris Davis

Dean Legge reviews each of Georgia's 27 commitments in the class of 2006.

Chris Davis
Offensive Lineman
(Jefferson) Jefferson, GA
Rank: NR Rating: ***

HONORS: Named an Athens Banner Herald second-team All-Northeast Georgia selection and played in the GACA All-Star Game as a senior… The Atlanta Journal-Constitution All-State Honorable Mention and Best in Georgia…named to All-Region, All-State, All-Northeast Georgia and All-Gainesville Area teams and preseason Super 11 throughout his career…ranked in the Georgia Top 30… Four year letterwinner, two-year starter…played tight end and on the defensive line his senior year…was also the team's long snapper all four years…three-year letterwinner in baseball and basketball and was offered scholarships in both of those sports as well…

FINAL WORD: Davis is a versatile lineman that will get a shot at all three spots. He will likely get his first look at tackle. He's very athletic (having played both basketball and baseball for Jefferson), but he'll need some time to grow into an offensive lineman's body. Davis played some tight end in high school, but he won't get a look there in Athens – he's a lineman all the way. Davis seems like a lock to be redshirted this fall. Davis could play some baseball at Georgia, too.
