(The Bolles School) Jacksonville, FL
Rank: NR Rating: ***
THE STATS: Led his team to the Class AA state title in 2004 primarily as a junior blocking back, but he also added 38 carries for 309 yards with nine rushing touchdowns and nine catches for 110 yards with two touchdown receptions...missed the 2005 season with an ACL injury...enjoys fishing in his free time.
HONORS: Florida Times-Union Super 24.....Tallahassee Democrat Top 75 list...Orlando Sentinel Top 100 list.... named Athlete of the Year at Bolles as a freshman and a sophomore....
FINAL WORD: It's hard to think that Chapas, who is not as highly regarded as other running backs in the South, would be able to recover from an ACL injury in time to compete this fall. Even if he winds up totally healed, it's going to be difficult to work his way onto the field because of the depth at fullback and special teams.
JOSH KENDALL'S COMMENT: Chapas will have to come back from an ACL injury that kept him out of 2005 season.
