Shackleford talks Spring Ball

ATHENS – Ken Shackleford spoke with Dean Legge for a short time about Georgia's upcoming spring practices.

Dean Legge: Tell me what you are working on for spring ball…

Ken Shackleford: Fundamentals. We are refining our fundamentals, making sure we have the small things right.

How do you get ready for spring practice?

I don't know… Sugar Bowl practice was a lot like spring practice, but it was cut down. In the spring we will be working on a lot of fundamentals. We don't work too much on play – just fundamentals.

What about the competition during the spring?

It's wide open. Everyone is getting after it.

Are there specific things you feel you need to work on?

My footwork, hands and keeping a good pad level – things like that.

Who is the most difficult player to go up against in drills?

Quentin Moses, hands down.

What's so tough about him?

He is so quick and ready. You might get him at first, but he's got so many countermoves that it's not funny.
