Kendall's Take: Lady Dawgs have critical test

ATHENS - Josh Kendall previews the Lady Dawgs' game with Tennessee.

Georgia women vs. Tennessee
Time/place: Today, 8 p.m, Stegeman Coliseum
Broadcast: ESPN2
Records: No. 13 Georgia is 17-6, 7-3 SEC; No. 5 Tennessee is 22-3, 8-2 SEC

About Georgia: With one more steal, Sherrill Baker will move in 18th-place all-time in the NCAA in that category. … Sophomore Tasha Humphrey will become one of Georgia's top 10 all-time shot-blockers with three more swats.

About Tennessee: The Lady Vols lost starting point guard Alexis Hornbuckle for the rest of the season due to a wrist injury she suffered earlier this week. … Tennessee continues to be led by freshman forward Candace Parker, who is averaging 15.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. … The Lady Volunteers are the only school in the conference with a winning record against Georgia. Tennessee leads the overall series 33-14 and is 8-7 all-time in games played in Athens.

Scouting report: Even though they beat Georgia in the first meeting this season, the Lady Vols will get a serious pep talk in the locker room before tonight's game. They gave up 85 points, the highest total they've given up all year. Georgia should be able to take advantage of Tennessee without Hornbuckle by pressing the perimeter and using their quickness to create defensive havoc. "The biggest challenge will come from defending the quickness that this team possesses overall," Tennessee's Pat Summitt said.

Up next: Georgia at Vanderbilt, Sunday, 1 p.m.; Tennessee at Alabama, Sunday, 1 p.m.
