|Duane Carter - QB
School Preferences: Clemson, Wake Forest, Virginia, Auburn, and Middle Tennessee among others
Profile 2003 - Duane Carter (QB)
BorderWars 101 Team WR Armand Cauthen set a school record in receptions at Douglas County last year on a predominantly running team. Setting a record like that requires a teammate that can play a little ball as well, and QB Duane Carter is a very good prospect as well.
At 6-1 and 190 pounds, Carter is a solid looking kid that backs up his looks with a 275 pound bench press. While Carter may be built like a running back, he's a QB all the way. "Yeah, I want to throw the ball," said Carter. "Some of the coaches are recruiting me as a QB, corner, safety, or running back, basically an athlete. One of the factors I'll look at when choosing a school is the offense. I'll be going to camps this weekend at Clemson and Wake Forest. I have camps set up to Auburn and Georgia later this summer. I'd say my favorite teams right now are Clemson, Wake Forest, Virginia, Auburn, and Middle Tennessee."
Carter also stars on the basketball team in which he averaged better than 15 points per game. Not only is Carter a good athlete, he's a very good student with a 3.4+ GPA. The athleticism that Carter brings to the position will give fits to the opposing defenses this year, and that same athleticism is going to get Carter recruited by some of the top colleges in the south.
