In-State OL Favors Georgia

Tyler Bowen is yet another big OL prospect in the Peach State for the class of 2007. At 6'7 315lbs he has the size that every college in the country looks for and he's drawing attention from quite a few of them already.

"There really isn't a school that is after me a whole lot more than another but Wake Forest is probably after me the most right now. A bunch of schools send me letters though like Georgia, Florida and Alabama," Tyler Bowen said.

The home state Bulldogs sit atop his list.

"It's kind of between Florida, Georgia and Alabama. I'd say Georgia is my favorite, then Florida and then Alabama."

Why are the Dawgs on top?

"I've just grown up a Bulldog fan and I like the facilities up there. It's been a winning program for a while and I like Coach Richt and his whole staff up there."

What sticks out about the Gators and the Tide?

Florida: "I just like that they're a winning program and I like that offense they run down there now."

Alabama: "I like Mike Shula and I've always kind of liked Alabama. They had a good season this past year and I just like what they do."

Bowen is a standout in the classroom as well as on the football field.

"I just took the SAT and I made a 1690 on the new one. I also have a 3.95 GPA."

What is he looking for most in a school?

"Academics is first of all. I want a school that has the degree I decide on and if I'm comfortable with my surroundings and everything. I'd like to major in physical therapy or pharmacy."

Tyler says school just kind of comes naturally to him.

"I pretty much stay after myself. I don't know if I'm so motivated, it just kind of comes to me. I've always made good grades and I want to make good grades because it opens so many more doors for me."

Stay tuned to for more on this big OL…
