Dean Legge reviews each of Georgia's 27 commitments in the class of 2006.

Ricardo Crawford
Defensive Tackle
(West Columbus) Cerro Gordo, NC
6-1/303/NA
Rank: NR Rating: **

THE STATS: As a junior Crawford recorded 71 tackles, including 12 tackles for loss and two sacks…as a senior registered 69 tackles, including ten tackles for loss and nine sacks…graded out at 79 percent at the right tackle position.

HONORS: Three-star player and rated #62 nationally at defensive tackle by Scout.com….NC Preps AA All-State team as a junior…NC Preps A All-State team as a senior…All-Conference for Waccaman Conference…All-Columbus County…AP First-Team All-State…Played in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas…

FINAL WORD: Crawford is one of several young defensive tackles at Georgia right now who could push for early playing time. Ray Gant, Marquis Elmore and Dale Dixson have only a little time remaining at Georgia, but Crawford, like the rest of the young interior linemen at Georgia, have the chance to play early and often for Georgia. Considering his athletic ability and that he enrolled early, Crawford has a very good chance of playing in 2006, but he'll be in a heated competition to beat out the other young linemen in Athens.
