Class of 2006: Ben Harden

Dean Legge reviews each of Georgia's 27 commitments in the class of 2006.

Ben Harden
Offensive Lineman
(Perry) Perry, GA
6-3/295/NA
Rank: NR Rating: **

THE STATS: Harden graded out at 86 percent as a senior and tallied 41 "devastator" blocks.

HONORS: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Class AAA All-State… Georgia Sports Writers Association and Georgia Coaches Association Class AAA All-State teams…Macon Telegraph All-Middle Georgia First Team…All-County…participated in the Georgia North-South all-star game…ESPN.com No. 26 offensive tackle… three-year starter on the offensive line…helped lead team to three consecutive playoff appearances… selected as team captain…named Lineman of the Year last two seasons…member of Student and Youth Leadership Councils…

FINAL WORD: It's hard to think a player as unheralded as Harden would make an immediate impact at Georgia, but it's happened before. Harden has the size for SEC football, but he'll have to deal with the learning curve the way the rest of the offensive linemen at Georgia always do. He seems destined to redshirt in 2006.
