Georgia DE Names Top Four

Grayson High School's Conrad Obi is one of the top defensive linemen in the south and schools across the country have taken notice. Obi already holds four big time offers and you can bet they won't be the last.

"I have offers from Mississippi State, Maryland, Florida and Alabama. Some schools like Georgia are waiting on my grades. I take the SAT on April 1st," Conrad Obi said.

The SEC dominates Conrad's early favorites list.

"I'd have to say Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi State and Miami are my top schools. The first four are really my favorites."

Why do they stick out to Obi?

Alabama: "Their coaching staff is real cool. I've got a friend down named there Lorenzo Washington who went to Grayson also."

Georgia: "I like Coach Tereshinski, Coach Fabris and Coach Bobo. The whole facilities are great. My brother also goes to school up there. He's thinking about walking on to the football team this year."

Florida: "They offered me and I need to check them out more after I take my SAT's."

Mississippi State: "They're thin at the defensive end position so that gives me a great opportunity to come in and start early. Coach Croom is an excellent teacher."

He has a few factors in mind for when it comes time to make a commitment.

"Definitely it's going to be playing time, the coach, the players the whole atmosphere and the college life. I want to study video broadcasting and work for a big network so I want a coach that can teach me film study and all of that."

Watch for Conrad to hit the camp circuit heavily this summer.

"I'm hitting up every camp I can at all the schools that have offered me. I'll be at Georgia, Mississippi State and Florida for sure."

He'll also be at the Scout.com Combine in Atlanta during the month of April. Stay tuned right here for the latest on this big Georgian right up through signing day 2007…
