About Georgia: The Bulldogs are the No. 3 seed in the tournament and thus had a bye through
Thursday's first round. They will play the winner of Thursday's late game between sixth-seeded Vanderbilt and 11th-seeded Alabama. … The Lady Bulldogs finished the regular season as the highest-scoring team in the league with an average of 80.9 points per game. That was more than two points better than their nearest competition, Tennessee. … LSU's Seimone Augustus led the league in scoring with a 22.4-point per game to edge out Georgia's Tasha Humphrey (20.2). Humphrey and teammate Sherrill Baker were unanimous selections to the All-SEC first team.
Scouting report: Georgia coach Andy Landers wouldn't say if he planned to root for Vanderbilt or Alabama in Thursday's game. "I don't think we get to pick," he said. "In this league, as soon as you say that you'd rather play someone they'll jump up and beat you." Georgia beat Alabama 84-59 and Vanderbilt 83-61 earlier this season. If the Bulldogs win today, they likely will face Tennessee, which beat them twice earlier this season. LSU, the regular season conference champion, is on the other side of the bracket. "We're going to go out here and try to steal one," Landers said.
