Dawgs Nab Another 5-Star for '06 Class

Clifton Geathers was the biggest '06 prospect in the country to still be undecided this late in the process but that all ended this afternoon when he made his pledge to follow his brother Robert and sign with the University of Georgia

"I think he just felt more comfortable. He's been around Georgia and he's very familiar with it," Coach Thompson of Carver's Bay said.

Many have speculated just what side of the ball he'll fit in at the next level and it appears he'll get his first shot defensively.

"They're going to play him on defense from all I've been told. He's going to play defensive end."

Clifton will likely end up at a prep school for next season but Coach Thompson is not ruling out the possibility of him becoming qualified.

"He's got some tutors and he's working hard. He's still just trying to get qualified now."

Geathers adds to a class that was already ranked #4 nationally on Scout.com. His addition could be enough to vault the Dawgs over Texas into the 3rd spot however.
