Dawgs Offer & Lead for Curran

Brookwood's Rennie Curran is a player that has been rising up recruiting boards across the country ever since he turned in an outstanding performance at the Army All-American combine back in the month of January. Offers have been coming in left and right and this weekend he landed a big one from his favorite school.

"Georgia offered me at their junior day. I was just shocked because that's been my dream school. I didn't know what to say," Rennie Curran said.

The Dawgs chose to have Mark Richt deliver the good news at a close door meeting inside his office.

"We went into his office and my parents love him. He just told me he likes my attitude, my work ethic and that I'm a leader. He just came out and said he had an offer for me. When he asked me where I wanted to play I told him anywhere and that I was just excited to have the opportunity to play at Georgia."

The Bulldogs scrimmaged earlier that afternoon and Curran loves what he saw of the intensity of their team.

"The scrimmage was intense man. They were getting in fights and getting after each other. I loved the goal line part. There was just a lot of hitting going on. I got to speak to Tra Battle and the other linebackers like Jarvis Jackson and Tony Taylor. I just asked them if they liked it and they said they love it and they love the coaches. Everyone was real positive about Georgia."

Rennie has vaulted UGA back to the top of his list.

"Georgia is number one right now. Then Auburn and then Georgia Tech. I also like Mississippi State and Boston College."

Although making a commitment crossed his mind, Curran has chose to hold off for now.

"I thought about committing but I just don't want to rush into anything. I want to make the right decision and take a couple of more visits. I think I'll probably commit before the season though."
