At 6-foot-4 and 320, Ed Ferguson is coming off a strong junior season. He finished 2nd on the team in pancake blocks in 2005 and was a first team All-State pick after the season. Ferguson talked about why that happened.
"The conditioning we go through at Chaminade sets us apart," Ferguson said. "We're all very agile, too. I don't think there's a better conditioned offensive line anywhere in the whole country."
Ferguson, who has a passing SAT score already, has been playing football since 10th grade, when he became a varsity starter. Now he's being watched by college coaches from all over.
"I don't have any offers in the mail yet," he said. "Some schools are talking about it. My top five would be the University of Miami, the University of Florida, LSU, Auburn, and the University of Georgia."
While the talented big man doesn't want to single out a favorite, he did speak very highly of the hometown Hurricanes.
"I really like Miami," he said. "We're down there all the time. It's close to home and there's just so much tradition there. It's a good program to get into the NFL and I like it because it's a lot like Chaminade. Everyone's on a mission to win it all every year and anything less is a disappointment."
