Top QB and Dawgs have mutual interest

The Matthew Stafford story is hardly underway in Athens, but Logan Gray, one of the most talked-about quarterbacks in the country says he is interested in the Bulldogs.

After looking at his production, it's easy to see why Gray is getting so much attention. He threw for more than 4,000 yards and 39 touchdowns his last two years under center for Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.

His skills have garnered him a lot of interest from around the country. Local schools like Kansas State (whom he visited in April), in-state Missouri and Kansas have all offered. But it seems he's getting more attention away from home. Northwestern and several Southern schools – Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, North Carolina State and South Carolina – have offered him a scholarship.

"Auburn is real interested. They have not offered, but I think they are going to," he said adding another to the list of potential suitors.

Gray is on track to enroll early, but said he's not certain if he will do that or not. He also said he's interested in seeing all the schools he's interested in before crossing them off his list.

"I want to go take my time and visit all of these places before I narrow it down," Gray said. "There are a lot of big quarterbacks out there that have already committed, but I want to go through the process. I want to see every place before I start knocking teams out."

Gray said he expects to make his choice before his senior season starts, and that he will visit schools during the summer. He will visit Florida in a few weeks, and said he "might" go to Georgia's summer camp in July.

"I got to go down and see the spring game at Georgia," Gray said. "I had a good time there. Coach Bobo came up to my school last week, and that was good. Everything is going pretty good right now."

Gray says the Bulldogs are very interested in him.

"He was saying that I am definitely one of their top guys they are recruiting. He really wants me to come to Georgia to play quarterback. Coach Bobo is a really cool guy – I like him a lot. We talk about a lot of stuff – not just football. It's definitely a good relationship," Gray said.
