The Georgia baseball team is red hot. They have now won 11 in a row and this weekend will face Kentucky in a battle in which can decide the SEC East. The Bulldogs have to face the Owls of Kennesaw State on Tuesday first. The matchup will be played at a neutral site. The game will be played at State Mutual Stadium, the home of the Rome Braves at 5:30 pm. All proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the United Way.

The Georgia Bulldogs are on a 11-game win streak and have won 9 in a row in conference. But before the Dawgs tangle with the Bat Cats of Kentucky the have to face Kennesaw State on Tuesday.

The Dawgs are currently 35-16 on the year and in non-conference games they are 19-5. On March 14th at Foley Field, the Bulldogs defeated the Owls 11-3. The Owls are now 22-29 on the season.

In the earlier matchup, Georgia was led by Josh Morris. The first baseman was 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and a triple. Senior Kyle Keen was also a star for the Bulldogs by going 2-for-4, with a home run and 3 runs scored. The Bulldogs also benefitted from 6 Owl errors. Stephen Dodson started the game, but Rip Warren received the win. Warren was 1 of 4 pitchers that came in relief. The 4 Bulldog relievers combined for 4 2/3 innings of shutout ball.

On Sunday, Josh Morris hit his 18th home run of the season and 46th of his career in a game vs Auburn. The 46 broke a record formely held by Roger Miller and Doc Brooks. His 18 home runs in also 2nd in the SEC.

Pitching for Georgia will be freshman left-hander Jason Leaver. He is currently 1-1 with a 4.74 ERA. The Southpaw last pitched on Thursday as he started vs Georgia Tech. He pitched 2 innings, allowed just 2 hits and 0 runs, while striking out 3 batters. On the mound for the Owls will be Dan Dale. Dale is currenly 7-5 with a 4.22 ERA.

Georgia continues the climb in the national rankings. The Bulldogs are now 11 in Baseball America, 12 in Collegiate Baseball and 14 in the USA Today/ESPN poll.

After this game, the Bulldogs will have 3 games with Kentucky to end the regular season. The 3 games will be played in Athens starting on Thursday at 7:00 pm. They also play on Friday at 6:00 pm and Sunday at 1:00 pm.
