Bruce Figgens, the tight end from Shaw High School in Columbus, Ga., measured 6-3 and 240 pounds at the Scout.com Combine held in Atlanta in April. To his credit, he doesn't look that big on the football field. He looks more like a wide receiver. He definitely blocks like a tight end though.
While this highlight tape shows his ability as a receiver, most of his highlight
tape is of him as a blocker. Because the blocking of a tight end doesn't show up
as well on the video, the only cuts are him as a wide receiver. Don't make the
mistake of thinking he is only a pass first tight end though. College coaches
have the same highlight tape that I do, and it shows him as a dominate
That's one reason why he has offers from the likes of Georgia, Auburn, and
Florida State among others.
