The Georgia softball team needed two wins vs FSU on Sunday to advance in the NCAA Tournament. They won the first one 3-1, but were shutout in the 2nd game 2-0. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 54-15 record. Kasi Carroll pitched both games for the Dawgs. Her final record was 30-7. The program appears to have a bright future as the roster consisted only 2 seniors. One of the seniors was Ashley Godfrey. She leaves Georgia as the all-time home run leader and after the game she talked to me.

Dave McMahon -- Thoughts of your last game as a Bulldog?

Ashley Godfrey -- This was a great team we had here... it was so much fun to be a part of this team. (about the final game)... This is a great hitting team, but we couldn't score runs vs FSU and you can't have that in the postseason.

DM -- This was the 3rd time you faced Florida State this weekend, but this was the first time you faced a different pitcher (Melissa May), is it tough to face someone completely different?

AG -- She is also a good pitcher, but we took way too many pitches against her that were strikes.

DM -- What is next for you?

AG -- I am going to grad school here... I am going to continue to cheer on these girls.

DM -- What was your favorite memory as a Georgia Bulldog?

AG -- When we won the SEC over Alabama. It was great, we all did a victory lap after the game.
