More on Georgia vs Kentucky

Bad news is that Georgia lost... Good news it is a double elimination tournament. Thursday morning at 11:00 am eastern, the Bulldogs will face the Kentucky Wildcats. The Cats are the SEC East Champions. In fact they haven't finished a season with a winning record since 1996, but you are here to read mostly about the Dawgs... so here are more facts.

Georgia just played Kentucky last week and took 2 out of 3 games at Foley Field. The one loss snapped Georgia's 13-game win streak.

Kentucky was predicted to finish in last place by SEC media members. Then again Georgia was predicted to finish 5th.

The Florida Gators were predicted to finish on top of the SEC East, but they finished last... actually that's pretty funny.

Here are a few Bulldogs that had a great series vs the Wildcats. Last Thursday, Josh Morris hit 2 home runs in a game, but after that was intentionally walked 3 times. He still was 3-for-10 overall in the series. Jonathan Wyatt was red hot, going 6-for-13 in the series. Bobby Felmy was 4-for-11 including the game-winning rbi on Thursday. Jason Jacobs was 4-for-12 as well.

Brooks Brown will most likely pitch in this game. Last week he pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 hits and 3 runs.

Pitching for Kentucky will probably be Craig Snipp. Snipp pitched a complete game vs the Bulldogs. Although he struck out 11, he did walk 5.

Kentucky has plenty of players that can hit home runs including the SEC Player of the Year Ryan Strieby. On the season he has 19 home runs and 75 rbi. He was pretty quiet against the Dawgs this year, going 2-for-10, but one of those hits was a home run.

Head-to-Head in the SEC Tournament vs Kentucky, Georgia is 2-2. In 1994, the one year Kentucky hosted the Tournament, the Bulldogs defeated the Wildcats 17-5.

Let's hope the have another game like that.
