The Georgia Men's Golf team will be playing for the NCAA Championship next week. This will be Co-Captain Richard Scott's 4th straight year competing. Last year he finished 16th in helping the Dawgs win the national title. This season Scott has a 73.00 scoring average and has finished in the top-10 in 3 events. As he prepares for the championship he found time to talk to me.

Dave McMahon -- You have been down this road before, this is what you play for?

Richard Scott -- Yes, this is what we've been gearing up for ever since we won the championship last year. I think if we play the way we are capable of doing we have a real good chance.

DM -- It seems the key to this team is consistency, right?

RS -- I think that is what it takes to win. Last year all 5 of us finished in the top-20 during the championships. It is not just us 5 that play, it is all 8 of us on the team. We are always pushing each other during the week in practice. Sometimes it seems easier when we compete on the road during an event.

DM -- Is this team better than last year's team?

RS -- We have a lot more experience this year. 4 of the 5 players who competed are back, plus you add Brian (Harman) and we really good.

DM -- In your 4 years here, have you competed against someone that you saw and said that he has a chance to do well on the PGA Tour?

RS -- Sometimes it is hard to tell is they will be good tour players. One guy we saw a lot a few years back was Camilo Vilegas from Florida... he is doing well on the tour right now. We could tell he had game.

DM -- Being from Canada, have you watched much of the Stanley Cup Playoffs?

RS -- I try to catch it. It is hard to find the channel it's on, but I watch what I can. My team is out of it. I cheer on the Montreal Canadiens, now I guess I will root for the Edmonton Oilers.

DM -- Thank you and good luck in the NCAAs.
