In the Right Place

Senior Bobby Felmy was just one of the leaders as the Georgia Bulldogs advance to the Super Regionals. During the regionals, Felmy batted .294 and played stellar defense. The right fielder is used to this pressure. He has a .364 career average in the NCAA Tournament. After Monday night's thriller, Felmy talked to me about the game and about which lies ahead, the Super Regional vs South Carolina.

Dave McMahon -- After being in the loser's side of the bracket, you rattled off three straight wins to advance to the Super Regional...

Bobby Felmy -- It feels real good. We won all kinds of ways in the tournament. I am happy to move on.

DM -- During the 3-2 win over FSU, there were a lot of fly balls hit your way that were close to being home runs, did you get nervous about how far the ball was traveling?

BF -- No, being around this ballpark, I generally know how if it is going to be a home run or not when the ball is hit.

DM -- And being around other outfielders like Joey Side, Jonathan Wyatt and Kyle Keen helps a lot, too...

BF -- All of them are great. What more can you ask?

DM -- You are one of the many seniors, but it was the freshmen pitchers that had to step up and did, what about them?

BF -- They did everything we ask of them. The coach has confidence in them and so does the team. They got the job done.

DM -- Everyone was hitting in the lineup... top to bottom.

BF -- Exactly, when we play our game, we are hard to beat.

DM -- How much did the fans come into play?

BF -- The Georgia fans were incredible. I got goose bumps whenever they did the Georgia Bulldog cheer. I loved all the fans that were on kudzu hill, too.

DM -- How much do you remember about South Carolina, your next opponent?

BF -- Nothing now. I just go out there and play and play hard. I am just so glad that if we keep on winning we will have another chance to play in Omaha.

Georgia swept the regular season series vs South Carolina in games played at Foley Field. The Bulldogs also defeated the Gamecocks 16-10 in the SEC Tournament, a game they trailed once 9-0.

The Super Regional starts on Saturday at 11:00 am et and will be on ESPN2. Sunday's game is at 4:00 pm et and will be on ESPN/ESPNU and Monday if necessary will be at 1:00 pm et on ESPN/ESPNU.
