The Worldwide Leader talks Dawgs

ESPN has been covering the Super Regional between Georgia and South Carolina all weekend and will be calling the deciding game three Monday night. ESPN's Mike Gleason, Darnell Coles and Kyle Peterson spoke with me after Sunday's game.

Dave McMahon -- Have any of you three ever called a game in Athens before?

All Three -- No this is our first time.

DM -- How do you like it?

Mike Gleason -- I love it. I love the crowd... the atmosphere... this is truly a great setting for sports.

Darnell Coles -- The campus is beautiful... I got a chance to see the football stadium, it is great... there is so much tradition here.

Kyle Peterson -- This feels like "College".

DM -- Tell me your thought on Joey Side...

DC -- The team goes as he goes. He has it all. He has outstanding speed and a great arm along with his bat.

MG -- He has great passion for the game.

DM -- What about game 2 starter Brooks Brown?

KP -- He has the ability to make adjustments. After the 3 runs he allowed in the first, all 3 unearned, he settled down and made adjustments and pitched really well.

MG -- He is a strong pitcher and I really like his breaking ball.

DM -- What do you think about Coach Perno?

KP -- I first met David Perno when I was a little leaguer living in Omaha in 1990. He was there as a player for Georgia in the College World Series. He and some other Bulldogs talked to us before the games. He is a great guy.

DM -- What does Georgia need to do to win game 3?

DC -- Just do a carbon copy of game two.

MG -- They must get to South Carolina's bullpen early.
