Boling commits to Dawgs

ATHENS – Georgia got its eighth commitment of the Class of 2007 today after their Summer Camp. The Bulldogs were looking to get some commitments this weekend, and minutes after it ended they got their first. Read more about Georgia's newest commit inside.

Clint Boling, an offensive lineman from Chattahoochee High School in Atlanta, has committed to play for Georgia.

"I was not expecting an offer, but I was hoping to get one," Boiling said. "I finally got one, and said that that's what I wanted – Coach Richt offered, and I committed right there."

Boling is the third offensive lineman to commit to the Bulldogs. The other two, Trinton Sturdivant and Tanner Strickland, were also camping this weekend.

"I have been going to Georgia games since – I can't ever remember how long. It has always been a dream to me, and now that dream has come true," the newest Dawg said.

Boling was one of around 250 players that attended the summer camp. "There was a lot of great competition this weekend, and it was a lot of fun," Boling said. But only a handful went into the weekend looking for, and receiving an offer. The Atlanta native didn't take long to say yes to the team he had been dreaming of playing for his entire life.

"It was literally seconds right after he said it to me," the Boling said. "He told me that he wanted be to be a Georgia Bulldog, and I told him that I wanted to be one. I was pretty excited about it."

Moments before entering Mark Richt's office before hearing the good news made the Boling nervous, but he knew what was likely to come.

"I couldn't even realize what was going on. I really thought I was going to get an offer once I got into the Butte-Mehere," he said.

After all the excitement, Boling said that he will now concentrate on Chattahoochee's efforts to win.

"I'm going to keep working out, and doing everything I have been doing. Hopefully we will win a state championship – that's what we want to do. I am going to concentrate on that. When that's done I am going to concentrate on being a Georgia Bulldog," he said.

The joy was hard to mask for Boling, who was with his parents shortly after committing.

"I can't even explain in words how excited I am right now," he said with a smile on his face.
