Top 10 CB Visits The Dawgs

Georgia hosted close to 300 players over the weekend for their annual prospect camp, but one of their biggest visitors wasn't there for the camp at all. 4-Star Marcus Gilchrist came down from N.C. to take an unofficial tour of the Athens campus we caught up him to get his impressions of UGA and find out just when exactly he will make his verbal commitment.

"Georgia is just an all around school. I think if I was to come here it would fit me academically and football wise they're competing for an SEC Championship every year. It's also a good fit for me socially," Marcus Gilchrist said.

Academics are always a big theme with parents and the North Carolina star's folks are no different.

"I got to meet with the academic advisors that help out the football players and they're fired up about keeping these guys straight and keeping them on pace to graduate. My parents really liked that part about it."

Conversely, players generally rave about the housing facility known as the East Campus Dorms.

"The dorms are unreal man. It's just like home. They make you feel like you're at home in your own house."

What did he think of the football facilities in Athens?

"Their football facilities are top notch. Everything they have here is just top notch."

Gilchrist leaves the Classic City with an overall favorable impression of the Bulldog coaches.

"I like the coaching staff as a whole you know. They're all enthusiastic about getting after the players and wanting to get better. They're just real down to earth."

Marcus will make one more stop this afternoon in Clemson before heading back to the Tarheel State to think about his decision.

"I have not made up my mind yet. I'm going to sit down with parents and look over and think over some stuff after I get back from Clemson. I should have a decision here in the next two weeks."

Gilchrist's decision will make one fan base extremely happy and we should all find out very shortly just where he will end up…
