Profile 2003 - Felipe Foster (DT)
In what has been described as the year of the wide receiver in the south, it's starting to look like it's the year of the defensive tackle in the state of Georgia. Felipe Foster of Clarke Central in Athens, GA has thrown his name into the ring of big defenders in the state.
At 6-1 and 287 pounds, Foster moves extremely well. He has a personal best of 4.91 in the forty. Foster got to butt heads with one of the best linemen in the state last year, Georgia signee Randall Swoopes. "Yeah, me and Randall ran practice last year," said Foster. "We had a good time. I don't know about where I want to go to school next year. I've only been to one camp, and that was at Auburn. My top 5 would probably be Auburn, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia right now."
Like many top linemen, Foster also wrestles. The leverage that one can learn wrestling becomes invaluable to an interior lineman, and Foster will be another very good defensive tackle prospect in a year in which Georgia is loaded with them.
