Georgia DE Names Five Favorites

LaGrange High School is one of the best programs in the Peach State and they have a lengthy reputation of sending standout players to college programs. Next in line to carry on that tradition is DL D.J. Stafford. He has offers from schools throughout the SEC and the ACC and he names a top five right here for Scout.com.

"I have offers from Virginia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Alabama, Clemson, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi State. There are others but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head," D.J. Stafford said.

Which schools currently hold a spot in his favorite group?

"I like Virginia Tech, Alabama, Georgia, Auburn and Clemson. I don't really have a leader yet."

Virginia Tech: "I like their program and I'm supposed to visit them at the end of this month. I want to see how their academics are."

Alabama: "I want to visit there also because I know for sure it's a good school."

Georgia: "I just like their style of defense. They all run to the football like my high school team."

Auburn: "I just feel like home down there. I think I fit in with those guys. My friend Tray Blackmon plays there."

Clemson: "This past weekend I toured the campus at Clemson. It was pretty nice. They have a big campus and a lot of fans up there. I met the coaches and I learned some new things about them."

Stafford doesn't have a timetable for a decision but he doesn't appear to be all that close to making a commitment.

"Whenever I feel like I find the school I want to commit to, I'll do it. It could be at any given moment. I don't think I'm too close just yet though. It's going to be a little while"

D.J. will consider the program, the coaches and the academics of all the schools before coming to a conclusion on the program of his choice.
