Offensive lineman Antwane Greenlee (6-5.5, 300, 5.2), from Hardaway High School in Columbus (Ga.), said he favors Florida State slightly over Georgia and Florida. All have offered.
"I'm currently committed to Florida State. I gave them a soft verbal in March. I plan to fully decide and give a full commitment before September 1, which is the day of my first game," Greenlee said.
"I average about five pancakes a game. Last year, we had a young team, so I stepped up to lead them. I think my best quality is leadership on the field. We had running-dominant offense all last year, so I want to mix it around a bit and improve my pass blocking skills. Now we have a new head coach, so I am spending a lot of this summer getting to know him with the rest of my team.
"I'm starting to send my information to the clearing house for Florida State, which was my childhood favorite. Head coach, Bobby Bowden, is the most winning coach; with a big record of coaching. His program at Florida State is known for winning games, going to the bowl games and its big fans. The first time I visited, I told them I wanted to commit. Then I visited again two weeks later with my friend, Bruce Figgins," Greenlee said.
"Bruce just committed to Georgia last Thursday (June 13). He and I have grown up together pretty close and we compete with each other's high school teams. It would be a big factor to play with him at Georgia, but I have to choose my own college life and what's good for me. I like Georgia because the head coach, Mark Richt, and I can talk for hours. I could see myself possibly playing there, and Georgia being the next powerhouse program.
"I like a couple players at Florida, like Tim Tebow, the quarterback I talked to when I was down there. I got to meet a lot of the players, and head coach, Urban Meyer is an awesome guy, overall. Florida has major fan support with the loudest stadium," he said.
"The only thing that would change my mind about committing to Florida State is if I would have a better opportunity to play earlier somewhere else. Playing early is a big factor for me. The coaching staff is also really important, because I want them to show a lot of love to me not only as a football player, but also as a person--like a family member."
