Wood down to just Tigers and Dawgs

Nick Claytor is still traveling with Charles Wood, but Georgia hopes they can convince Wood to come to Athens even though they have not offered his high school teammate. It looks like the South's top recruiting battle between Auburn and Georgia will continue with Wood.

"I don't have a favorite yet," Wood said, but indicated that Auburn and Georgia are neck-and-neck.

He visited both campuses, and also got offers from Marshall and East Carolina during the summer. Georgia is eager to land another top offensive lineman, and they have their sights set on Wood.

But the Dawgs and Tigers will have to wait for Wood to decide where he's going.

"It's probably going to be a while," the three-star prospect said indicating that he probably won't decide where to go to college until the end of his high school season this fall.

Wood said he is focusing on his grades. "I am just looking to get my grades right so I can come to school because if I don't get my grades right it doesn't matter," he said.

John Jancek is recruiting Wood for Georgia, and Wood said he was pleased with the ideas the Bulldogs had for him to work on in the future.

In the meantime, Wood will visit the Tigers and the Dawgs, but he does not yet have those dates set. And although it does not appear like the Dawgs are going to offer a scholarship to Claytor, Wood said the pair may or may not play at the same college.

"Me and Nick are probably going to travel to the together to most of the games this year," Wood said. "We talk about playing at the same school together sometimes, but I can respect where he goes and he'll respect where I go."
