Profile 2003 - Clay Callaway (QB)

Clay Callaway is one of the better quarterbacks in Georgia. He has a mind for the game being the son of Georgia Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach Neil Callaway. Callaway had an excellent touchdown to interception ratio last year of 23/8, showing that he knows how to protect the ball. He has excellent mobility as well with 4.6 speed.

Callaway has camped at Furman, Georgia, and Auburn this summer, and he includes each of those schools among his favorites. "Right now I like Auburn, Furman, Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee, Georgia, and Troy State the best. I don't have any offers yet, so I'm pretty much wide open."

Callaway has been working hard at camps this summer and on his own during the offseason. He has already added 10 pounds to his frame since the weigh in at the Nike Camp in April. He displayed excellent quickness with a 4.31 shuttle time; a trait that will serve him well and he attempts to improve on his impressive run/pass stats of a year ago.
