Senior defensive tackle Ray Gant
expects to be back full speed at practice on Monday, he said Saturday, but he won't know for sure until he meets with a doctor Monday morning and he's still uncertain if he'll play Sept. 2 against Western Kentucky.
"They don't want to rush me back," he said. "They want me to take my time and definitely be ready to go in a couple weeks."
The Bulldogs expect to have wide receiver Demiko Goodman (leg) and cornerback Bryan Evans (knee) back Monday as well. Both could be ready to play in the opener, Richt said.
Linebacker Tony Taylor (thigh bruise) and defensive linemen Jeff Owens (hamstring) and Ricardo Crawford suffered what Richt described as minor injuries during Saturday's full pad practice. All should return next week, Richt said.
Wide receiver Mikey Henderson sat out Saturday after aggravating an old ankle injury but is expected back Monday.
Offensive lineman Zeb McKinzey (knee) and defensive tackle Marquis Elmore (knee) are the only players who have been completely ruled out for the Western Kentucky game.
