WKU Week: Thursday News and Notes

ATHENS - Josh Kendall's news and notes from Georiga's fall practices.

THE QUARTERBACK PLAN: Richt has not decided for sure how he will rotate starting quarterback Joe Tereshinski and backup Joe Cox on Saturday. He also didn't rule out playing a third quarterback, either Blake Barnes or Matthew Stafford.

"Today for some reason next to G-Day might have been the busiest day of my life," Richt said. "I just did a bad job of scheduling. I had stuff all morning. I've got two events I'm going to tonight. I'm going to have to talk to (quarterbacks coach Mike) Bobo on the phone to nail that down."

Barnes and Stafford haven't gotten any hints about what they'll be doing Saturday, but both feel they have had enough practice snaps to be ready, they said this week.

"I don't know if I'm going to play or not," Stafford said. "I'd definitely like to get in there, but if it's not in the plans, it's not in the plans."

"All I want's a chance, an opportunity to play," Barnes said. "If I get that, I'll be excited and take advantage of it."

OPENING DAY: The Bulldogs have won nine straight season-openers, dating back to Jim Donnan's first season, when Georgia fell 11-7 to Southern Miss. Overall, Georgia is 85-24-3 (.772) in its first game of the season.
