On the Right Track

Demiko Goodman had 113 receptions and 18 touchdowns in high school. He also starred on the track winning medal after medal in national competitions. So far in college he has been doing well on the track, but hasn't had too much to show on the gridiron. In the Western Kentucky game, Demiko had his first career reception. But he wants more as he tells me in this interview.

Dave McMahon -- It must feel great getting out there more and more...

Demiko Goodman -- It is great. I have to make the best of it and keep playing hard.

DM -- What do you still need to work on as a receiver?

DG -- My all around game. I want to improve on everything.

DM -- Are you the fastest player on the team?

DG -- I am one of them. Ramarcus Brown and Thomas Brown. Also A.J. Bryant and Asher Allen are fast, too.

DM -- Could your sister out run them?

DG -- She probably could beat them. She is just a sophomore in high school and she is fast.

DM -- We all know about your speed... but which other Georgia receiver would you switch with and have his strength?

DG -- Probably Mario Raley or A.J. Bryant.

DM -- Whose moves?

DG -- I would choose Mikey Henderson.

DM -- Which football players were also your teammates on the track team?

DG -- Reggie Brown and Albert Hollis.

DM -- Who were the best football / track stars of all-time?

DG -- Definitely Herschel Walker and also Bob Hayes. Hayes won a Super Bowl and an olympic gold medal.

DM -- Which is tougher under pressure catching a football or passing the baton in a track relay?

DG -- Both are tough. But in football you get hit.

DM -- Thank you for your time and answers.
