INJURY UPDATE: Defensive tackle Ray Gant (foot) is doubtful and offensive tackle Michael Turner (ankle) and wide receiver Mikey Henderson (hamstring) are out for the UAB game, Richt said after Thursday's practice.

Gant is "doubtful at best," Richt said.

"He's trying to convince everybody he's fine, but we're not sure that he is," Richt said.

Thomas Flowers will return punts, Richt said.

QUARTERBACK ROTATION: Richt still hopes to get backup quarterback Joe Cox into Saturday's game, he said.

"We want to get him there, and that's all I'll say for certain," he said.

THIS AND THAT: A video tribute to Erk Russell will be broadcast at halftime of Saturday's game. … Georgia has held its opponents to three-and-out on 12 of 25 drives this season. That 48 percent rate leads the SEC. … Defensive end Quentin Moses was one of 11 players nationally to be named this week to the American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team. … Georgia national champion women's gymnastics team and College World Series participant baseball team will visit the family friendly tailgate areas on North and South campus on Saturday. … The Bulldogs are sixth in the country in scoring defense, having allowed six points per game.
