Colorado Week: Tuesday Practice Report

ATHENS - The No. 7-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) conducted a two-and-a-half-hour practice in full pads on Tuesday afternoon as they continue to prepare for this Saturday's intersectional matchup with Colorado (0-3, 0-0 Big 12) at Sanford Stadium.

Each Tuesday's workout is traditionally the most taxing of the week and this Tuesday's session was no different.

"It's a long, hard physical practice," head coach Mark Richt said. "We got it out of them today. They'll be happy when tomorrow comes, I know."

Earlier in the day, Richt held his weekly press conference where he talked more about facing Colorado.

"This game is going to be a challenge," Richt said. "Colorado is a team that is hungry and desperate for a victory. They know things can change rapidly for them if they get a big win against us. We need to continue to improve ourselves. As well as we have played defensively, we can still get better and our offense certainly can get better. Our kicking game has been pretty special and hopefully that continues."

Saturday's contest will feature four of the nation's premier kickers as both the Bulldogs and Buffaloes sport outstanding placekickers and punters.

"Mason Crosby is one of the best kickers in the country," Richt said. "He and (Brandon) Coutu are probably on the same level of ability and accuracy. Their punter is a left-footer who is averaging about 44 yards per punt. We have to get used to catching a left footed punt so hopefully we have someone on the scout team that can kick some for us. Brandon has made every kick and Gordon (Ely-Kelso) is not only kicking for average but is having some tremendous hang time on his kicks. I am really proud of how that is going."
