Step up to the Mike (Linebacker)

Though his years at Georgia, Jarvis Jackson has played both Mike and Will Linebacker. He has 18 career starts and he always seems to make the most of it. Last year he was 2nd on the team with 84 tackles. This year he is 4th with 12 tackles. No matter what the situation he is ready to play. He talked to me this week about the linebacker situation and this is what he said.

Dave McMahon -- How 'bout the Georgia defense so far...

Jarvis Jackson -- It has been great so far, but there is room to improve.

DM -- It seems like you and the rest of the linebackers are really making some big plays this year?

JJ -- I really have to thank our line for slowing down the play, which allows us to make big plays.

DM -- One of the keys for your group is the senior leadership...

JJ -- We have played with each other so long. Our communication with each other is the key.

DM -- Dannell Ellerbe is back this week, that is big...

JJ -- Pound per pound he can be one of our best players.

DM -- Colorado is 0-3, but you can't take them likely...

JJ -- You can never take a team likely.

DM -- Colorado is bringing Ralphie... have you ever seen a buffalo before?

JJ -- Never, not even in a zoo.

DM -- Have you ever eaten buffalo?

JJ -- I haven't done that either.

DM -- Thank you for your time and answers.
