Profile 2003 - Fernando Velasco (OL)

Fernando Velasco is a big interior line prospect from Louisville, GA. He has been busy at summer camps, and he has collected several offers, including one from his favorite.

"I went to Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, and Clemson this summer," said Velasco. "Georgia, Arkansas, and Kentucky have offered so far. Georgia is my favorite team right now. After Georgia, I like Auburn, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Kentucky. I play tackle in high school, but I'm being recruited to play guard in college."

Jefferson County had a rough go of it last year, but look for them to rebound with Velasco leading the way. "We went 3-7 last year, but we're returning about 14 starters. We've been working hard this summer, and I think we'll be a lot better."

Velasco has also been working hard this summer. At 6-3 and 325 pounds, Velasco said that he has a personal best of 5.3 in the 40. With his size and quickness, he could see the field early in college.
