A Bulldog Commitment Pulls a Switch

According to Carter Strickland of the Atlanta Journal, Walter Hill of East Hall High School in Gainesville has de-committed from the Georgia Basketball team. How is that good news? Because Hill is one of the very best football players in the state of Georgia, and the 6-5 and 200 pound phenom has decided to cast his lot with the Georgia Bulldog Football team.

Carter Strickland Reports

Walter Hill is a big time playmaker at the wide receiver position. Football fans across the state lamented the loss of him to the hardwood, but they will be ecstatic to see him on the gridiron next fall.

Being that Hill is taking a football scholarship, that doesn't preclude him from walking on the basketball team like Fred Gibson did for the Bulldogs. Had Hill signed a scholarship with the Hoop Dawgs, he would not have been eligible to play football. NCAA rules prohibit scholarshipped athletes in other sports from playing football as teams in the past used to stash 6-5 and 300 pound athletes on their swim team.

Hill marks the second HUGE commitment for the Georgia Bulldogs this week as arguably the Class of 2008's best prospect in the South A.J. Green also cast his lot with the Dawgs.

Bulldog fans looking for playmakers are going to be itching with anticipation for the 2008 season when the Dawgs will trot out not one but two 6-5 wide receivers that are among the very best in the country at what they do.
