Florida Week: Tuesday Practice Report

ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs (6-2, 3-2 SEC) practiced for just under two and half hours on Tuesday afternoon as they continue working toward this Saturday's annual showdown with Florida (6-1, 4-1 SEC) in Jacksonville, Fla.

"Practice was pretty good today," head coach Mark Richt said. "We had a few more mistakes than I'd like to have on a Tuesday, but it is early in the week and we've got time to remedy that."

For the second straight day the Bulldogs worked out under sunny skies and breezy conditions as temperatures dipped into the 40s by the end of the session.

Richt talked about his team's preparations for the contest at length during the Bulldogs' weekly press session earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

³It is nice to be here this week after a victory," Richt stated. "It was a close call at the end, but I¹m very thankful we were able to get the win. It did us some good. The morale of the group is very good. Everyone excited about the opportunity ahead of us in Jacksonville.

"We definitely have a tall order ahead of us, especially the way we have been playing as of late," Richt said. "We have to get a whole lot better in a hurry. We have start out by protecting the football a lot better than we have lately. If we keep turning it over the way we have, I don¹t think we have much chance of beating anybody. We have to get better in a lot of areas.²
