Auburn Week: Wednesday Practice Report

ATHENS - The Georgia Bulldogs held a two-hour practice Wednesday as they continued preparations for their upcoming Southeastern Conference clash with fifth-ranked Auburn.

The Bulldogs (6-4, 3-4 SEC) face the Tigers (9-1, 5-1 SEC) Saturday in Auburn, and Georgia coach Mark Richt said his team had another solid practice including a good look from the scout team.

"We had a spirited practice, very competitive groups with a high level of energy," said Richt.

When asked what was the biggest difference between this year's team and last year's squad, Richt said it comes down to winning the close games.

"We haven't won most of the close games this year, and if we did, we would be 8-2 or 9-1," said Richt. "There are always going to be close games. It's a fine line, if you do win them, you're winning and ranked in the top five, top 10, and if you don't, you are where we are now. We're not that far away."

Richt indicated that senior split end Mario Raley should return to practice next week and hopefully be ready to play against Georgia Tech on Nov. 25.
