Lady Dawgs Preview: Georgia vs. NC A&T

ATHENS - Josh Kendall takes a look at Georgia's game with North Carolina A&T.

No. 9 Georgia (1-0) vs. North Carolina A&T (1-0)

Time/place: 7 p.m., Stegeman Coliseum

About North Carolina A&T: The Aggies are led by three freshmen starters. Lamona Smalley, Lonise Coulter and Ta'Wuana Cook combined for 43 points, 25 rebounds and eight assists in North Carolina A&T's 61-49 win over Stetson.

About Georgia: Star forward Tasha Humphrey remains suspended after an offseason arrest. She won't return for another five games. … True freshman guard Ashley Houts has made a fast impression. She led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring in their season opener with 18.

Scouting report: This will be a walk-over for the Lady Bulldogs, who had a tough game in their opener, beating No. 11 Rutgers, and have two more pushover games – against Davidson and Georgia Southern – before playing Stanford. Look for Georgia to push the pace early, pull away to a big lead, and get some of its less-experienced players into the game.

Up next: Georgia vs. Davidson, Sunday, 2:30 p.m., Stegeman Coliseum; North Carolina A&T vs. South Carolina, Friday, 7 p.m., Columbia, S.C.
